Keana Cavero

Vice-President Programming

In her role as Vice-President Programming, Keana, takes charge of organizing and facilitating the organization's events, programming, sponsorships, and promotional activities. Currently in her fourth year of the Law program at Carleton University, with a concentration in Transnational Law and Human Rights, Keana's enduring passion for community engagement has led her to diverse involvement in the Ottawa community. Her experiences range from working in the Parliament Hill Page Program, contributing to policy and programs within the Carleton University Student Union (CUSA) and their Sexual Assault Support Center, and facilitating cultural events with the Humanitarian Organization of Latin American Students (HOLAS), to representing Carleton as a member of the Varsity Rowing Team and more. With a unique residence experience that included navigating the challenges of living through a pandemic in her first year, working as a Residence Fellow, and subsequently enjoying a more "traditional" upper-year experience, Keana understands the profound impact of a positive residence experience for students of all levels. She is dedicated to ensuring that resident students have abundant opportunities to form meaningful connections and create lasting memories. Keana, a lifelong enthusiast of politics and policy, recognizes the importance of trustworthy leadership and is committed to making the RRRA (Rideau River Residence Association) reliable, transparent, and ultimately in service of the students they represent.

Kamran Azizli

President

As President of the Rideau River Residence Association (RRRA), Kamran is responsible for overseeing the general operations, finances, and the association's relationship with the university administration. Currently in his fourth year at Carleton University pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law, Kamran previously served as a Residence Fellow and now holds the role of Director for the Carleton Criminology Society. With a rich history of involvement on campus, including positions as an International Student Ambassador, Ambassador for the Faculty of Public Affairs, and a Peer Mentor, Kamran is dedicated to organizing and facilitating a wide range of residence events throughout the year. Having personally experienced life in residence during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic as an International Transfer student, he understands the significance of fun events for students to socialize and make new friends. Kamran is committed to providing newcomer students with a strong support system and a student government that listens and genuinely cares about their needs.


Muhammad Maahir

Vice-President Administration

As Vice-President Administration, Maahir oversees the administrative side of things happening at RRRA. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring council is ran in a responsible and appropriate manner, ensuring that any administrative tasks are being completed to the highest standards and overseeing any behind the scenes actions at RRRA. Maahir is currently in his third year at Carleton, completing his software engineer degree. He aims to make RRRA accessible, approachable, and transparent for students – a place where you trust your voice is heard.
